The Martin County School District (MCSD) has been awarded $765,920

Stuart, FL – The Martin County School District (MCSD) has been awarded $765,920 through the Florida Department of Education’s Workforce Development Capitalization Incentive Grant Program (CAP) — marking the District’s third award from this competitive state initiative.

The Workforce CAP Grant plays a vital role in establishing and expanding career and technical education (CTE) programs that lead to industry-recognized certifications. These funds help ensure students across Florida have access to the tools, resources, and training needed to thrive in emerging industries and meet the demands of the state’s growing economy.

Under this year’s award, MCSD will launch and expand several programs that prepare students for high-wage, high-demand careers. Newly supported programs include:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) Foundations
  • Civil and Survey Drafting
  • Nursing Assistant (Acute and Long-Term Care)

The District will also receive additional funding support for existing programs to build upon previous CAP investments, including:

  • Welding Technology Fundamentals
  • Building Construction Management
  • Engineering Pathways
  • Allied Health Assisting

"We are very pleased to receive our third Workforce CAP Grant award,” Superintendent Michael Maine said. “This continued investment strengthens our ability to provide students with hands-on learning experiences that lead to industry certifications and meaningful career opportunities. We are grateful for the state’s partnership in helping us prepare students for the workforce of tomorrow.”

Since first participating in the Workforce CAP program, MCSD has used awarded funds to create and expand multiple programs aligned with regional and state workforce needs. These programs provide students with real-world experience, technical training, and industry credentials, helping ensure a seamless transition from high school to employment or postsecondary education.
