U.S. Chamber Elevates Local Business Voices
Americans stand up for pro-growth tax policy.

All policy is local, so the U.S. Chamber is bringing together lawmakers and local business leaders in their districts to discuss the need to extend pro-growth business tax provisions.

  • Elected officials get to hear how the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) has generated economic growth and strengthened communities across the country.

Why it matters: Americans could face a massive federal tax increase at the end of 2025 unless the TCJA is extended.

What they’re saying: Local businesses explained how pro-growth tax policy has helped them invest where they live.

  • “We’ve grown to be one of the top roofing and exterior companies in the country, purely because of the way we were able to depreciate our assets and get our depreciation back…. We currently employ 25 employees, about 75 [subcontractors] every day, and that’s all because the [TCJA] allowed us to reinvest in our people,” said Brady Clements, owner of SPG Roofing & Exteriors in Whiteland, Indiana.

The U.S. Chamber and state and local chamber partners have held over 30 tax roundtables—the map above shows all the states we’ve visited, some more than once—and we are on track to host 100 by the end of the year.

What else are we doing? We launched a paid advocacy campaign this week, including billboards and digital advertising in select states and districts, aimed at educating the public on the importance of securing permanent tax relief for America’s families, workers, and entrepreneurs, and thanking the lawmakers working to get the One Big Beautiful Bill Act over the finish line.

Big picture: This work is part of our advocacy in support of a pro-growth tax code to foster broad-based economic growth that benefits all Americans.
