Understanding and Managing Side Effects of Cancer Treatment and What Happens When I Finish Treatment?
Cancer treatments may have many side effects. Side effects can be different for each person, and for different medicines and kinds of treatment. Treatment may impact your nutritional status, cause fatigue, and reduce your level of energy, induce anxiety, and stress, and impact your overall wellbeing. There are effective ways to manage side effects and improve your quality of life.
You’re finishing cancer treatment, now what? It’s important to know what the next steps are when you finish your treatment. You’ll need information on managing any ongoing side effects, what screening tests you should have, when you’ll see your doctors, reducing stress and finding your new normal. Join us for an interactive discussion with members of our care team who can help you navigate the next step of your journey.

Importance of Physical Activity, Strengthening, and Balance
Physical activity, including strengthening and balance exercises, is crucial for cancer patients to reduce treatment side effects, such as debilitating fatigue, and improving physical function and overall quality of life. Nutrition and Mindful Eating
For many, a cancer diagnosis can make eating feel complicated, stressful, or at odds with our own bodies. Between navigating taste changes, treatment side effects, and long-held beliefs about what we “should” eat, it can be difficult to trust our internal hunger and satiety cues. Please join us for an experiential workshop tailored for cancer patients and survivors to explore mindful eating practices and intuitive eating principles.
Together, we will learn how to:
• Reconnect with your body’s unique needs during and after treatment.
• Manage changing taste, appetite, and energy levels without pressure or judgment.
• Rebuild a positive, nurturing relationship with food and movement.
• Find comfort, satisfaction, and ease in nourishing yourself.
Featuring Mariel Reed, RD, CSO, LDN and Sheila Griffin, MPA, RYT 500-hour, NBC-HWC, Certified Yoga4Cancer Instructor, Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Instructor
