Mah Jongg Tournament Sold Out, but Waitlist and Sponsorships are Still Available!
The Education Foundation of Martin County’s annual Mah Jongg Tournament is right around the corner—and it’s already sold out! Presented by Sandhill Cove Retirement Living, this highly anticipated charity event will take place on Friday, March 7, at Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club.
Each year, the Mah Jongg Tournament raises funds to support the vital educational enrichment programs provided by the Education Foundation. These programs make a direct impact on the students and teachers in Martin County’s public schools. The theme, “Make a Hand and Give a Hand to Education,” reminds participants that while they’re enjoying a fun day of play, they are also supporting a great cause.
The day will kick off with check-in and a continental breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by morning play at 10:30 a.m. A delicious luncheon will be served at 12:30 p.m., with afternoon play starting at 1:30 p.m. The day will conclude with an awards presentation with prizes.
Guests can also take part in the silent auction, featuring a variety of exciting items such as spa treatments, jewelry, gift baskets, restaurant gift cards, and golf outings. It’s a perfect way to support a great cause while snagging some fabulous items.
Tournament Committee Chair and Education Foundation Board President, Lois McGuire, has organized the event for years. "This is a fantastic way to support the students and teachers in our local schools," she said.

Step Into the Magical World of Harry Potter at the Evening of Excellence Gala
Get ready for an enchanting evening filled with magic and mystery! The Education Foundation of Martin County’s Evening of Excellence | Bids for Kids gala is back with a spellbinding Harry Potter theme that will transport you straight to Hogwarts. Hosted by the Education Foundation and presented by Morganti, this elegant event is set to take place on Saturday, April 5, at Harbour Ridge Country Club in Palm City—and it’s expected to sell out quickly!
This extraordinary fundraiser is more than just a magical night; it’s a chance to make a real difference in the lives of students and teachers in Martin County. With tickets priced at $250 per person (21+ only), this event raises vital funds to enrich the quality of education in Martin County’s public schools. One of the most highly anticipated features of the Evening of Excellence is its legendary silent auction. With over 500 items up for bid, guests will have the opportunity to explore a wide array of treasures, from vacation getaways and fishing charters to artwork, spa treatments, golf packages, jewelry, and more. As you sip cocktails and enjoy hors d’oeuvres, you can also shop for these fantastic items to support a wonderful cause.
The excitement continues with the Bids for Kids live auction, followed by a delicious dinner with your choice of a surf and turf or vegetarian entrée. And don’t forget the dance floor, where you can move to the music and celebrate a successful evening of giving. Plus, raffle tickets for a wheelbarrow of liquor will be available for sale, adding even more fun to the event!
All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Education Foundation’s educational enrichment programs for local students.
