WEEK IN REVIEW: BACK IN WASHINGTON WITH AN OPEN GOVERNMENT

Before diving into this week’s update, I want to take a moment to say thank you. During the forty-three day shutdown, countless federal workers, servicemembers, and families across our community endured the impacts of the longest government shutdown in American history. Your commitment to keeping this country moving—despite financial hardship—has not gone unnoticed. As always, if you need assistance while the government gets back up and running my office stands ready to help. Please do not hesitate to reach out—we will do everything we can to assist you.

With that, this week, I returned to Washington, D.C. with good news: the government is finally reopened. On Wednesday, November 12th, Congress sent President Trump a bill to keep the federal government running through January 30, 2026. Now, over the next two months, Congress will work on passing the rest of the FY26 spending bills to avoid another lapse in appropriations.
